Northwest University’s Computer Science Program was established in 1971, and it is one of the earliest computer disciplines established in western my country. In 1983, he was granted the right to confer a master's degree in "Computer Software and Theory". In 1992, he established a key discipline of "Computer Science and Technology" in Shaanxi Province and established a master's program in computer software. In 1996, he was awarded a doctoral degree in "Computer Software and Theory". In 2001, he established a computer science and technology post-doctoral research station. In 2011, the discipline of computer science and technology was authorized as a first-level doctoral degree.
This discipline is one of the key disciplines of the "211 Project" of Northwest University. After 50 years of construction, it has formed a discipline team with a reasonable structure and strong teaching and research capabilities. It has formed a bachelor, master, doctor, and postdoctoral team. Talent training system, there are currently 10 doctoral supervisors. It has 1 innovation team from the Ministry of Education, 1 Shaanxi Software Engineering Center, 1 national teaching team, 1 Shaanxi innovation team, 1 national distinguished expert, 2 provincial famous teaching teachers, and 4 Shaanxi distinguished experts selected name. It has scientific research platforms such as the National and Local Joint Engineering Center for the Digitalization of Cultural Heritage, the National and Local Joint Engineering Center for New Network Intelligent Information Services, Shaanxi Province Computer Software Center, Shaanxi Province New Network Security Guarantee and Service Engineering Laboratory, Xi'an Internet of Things Heritage Protection Engineering Center, etc. . It has a national virtual simulation experiment teaching center for digital protection of cultural heritage, a national Linux technology training and promotion center, and a Shaanxi Province Computer Basic Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.
