Dr. He Chen received his B.Eng (summa cum laude) from McMaster University, M.A.Sc and Ph.D from University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2007, 2009 and 2013, respectively, all in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UBC, working with Prof. Z. Jane Wang and Prof. Victor C. M. Leung. He held a visiting position at LILY research lab, directed by Prof. Chunyan Miao , at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
Dr. He Chen was an R&D Engineer at Blackberry Ltd. , Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, developing a core application for the first version of Blackberrry 10 Operating System. He was also a Software Engineer at IBM , Markham, Ontario, Canada, and a Research Scientist at Yobo Technology Inc. in Vancouver. Chen served as a UBC AMS tutor for three consecutive years
Dr. He Chen's research interests are in the broad areas of statistical signal processing, with focus on infrastructures and applications of Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent home, and RFID systems.
