He has long been engaged in image processing and pattern recognition, multimedia information retrieval, quantum information processing research and teaching. He has hosted more than 20 scientific research projects, such as National Natural Science Fund, ' 863 ' Program, Doctoral Fund, Aviation Science Fund and National Defense Project. He published 160 academic papers in IEEE Transaction on Multimedia, IEEE Transaction on IP, IEEE Transaction on CSVT, IEEE Transaction on KDE, IEEE Transactions on ITB, Pattern Recognition, Optics Express, Chinese Science, Journal of Electronics, Journal of Physics and other domestic and foreign journals, as well as CVPR, WWW, ICPR and other important international academic conferences. He published two books cooperatively, received five authorized invention patents, and received scientific and technological awards such as the Second Prize for Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province (the first completer).
